It’s official! Calero World Online 2017 is well underway and what an exciting week it’s been. It all started with opening remarks from our President and CEO, Chris Jurasek, as he welcomed everyone to the event. Chris shared the Calero team’s excitement about our recently announced partnership with Riverside Partners. The new partnership will help accelerate Calero’s continued growth in this space and set the stage for many exciting things to come.
Keynote speaker, Lisa Unden-Farboud, Research Director for Gartner, shared her insights around current and emerging trends in the communications and IT arena, the challenges they present and how TEM fits into the bigger picture. Based on Gartner’s 2Q forecast, GLOBAL IT Spend is expected to grow by 3% CAGR through 2021 and reach $3.9 trillion. Driving forces behind this include increasing bandwidth and mobile data usage, a move to OPEX with the growth of consumption-based services, digitalization, consumerization and the explosion of IoT.
Lisa shared how organizations are beginning to leverage their TEM solutions to address some of these trends. Enterprises are looking for ways to reduce costs, better manage assets and gain more visibility and control. TEM vendors have responded by adding more capabilities to their platforms which can be applied to the broader IT environment – including integration with leading ITSM, ITFM and EMM providers.
