Whew! It’s hard to believe that we just wrapped up week two of Calero World Online. As always, each session promises to be informative and exciting in nature. And, this week was no different. In case you missed anything, here are a few highlights from this week.
We all know that managing technology expenses is challenging and extremely complex. In this session led by Tripp Cox, Calero’s EVP of Research and Development, Tripp, discussed the differences between each technology – RPA, machine learning and AI – and how they can be applied to improve efficiency and accuracy in managing inventory, contracts and expenses through the use of intelligent software and elimination of repetitive tasks.
In the simplest form, RPA is a software robot that mimics human actions, whereas the vision for AI is the simulation of human intelligence by machines. Basically, RPA is associated with “doing” and AI and machine learning are focused on “thinking” and “learning” from data. RPA is highly process-driven – it’s more about automating repetitive, rule-based processes that typically require interaction with multiple disparate IT systems. Machine learning-based AI, on the other hand, is highly data driven.
When it comes to managing cloud, mobility and telecom expenses, the technologies can leveraged in:

The ways we communicate have rapidly evolved and so have the ways we manage communications data (e.g. traditional voice, mobile, UC, IoT, Cloud). Unfortunately, communications are often siloed and the data disconnected. This lack of connectivity can create great pains for enterprises as they have little to no control or transparency into their data, poor inventory visibility, too many tools and an inability to report up, to name a few. In the world of big data, data alone is meaningless without solutions designed to help explore, analyze and interpret. This is where data discovery and visualization tools come into play.
Having increased visibility can help unlock the value of hidden data, enabling you to connect, visualize and make sense of the insights and gain control across the IT lifecycle. Using a powerful guided analytics solution, like Calero Insight Analytics, vasts amounts of data from wireline, mobile and cloud can be connected within one tool. Leveraging real-time insights, highly visualized data and drill-down capabilities, users can quickly and easily find answers to problems they didn’t know to look for or didn’t know to ask.
Learn how embedded guided analytics simplifies the management of your IT communications lifecycle – making your job easier, while arming you with the actionable insights to help your organization reduce cost and drive business value. Watch the full webcast on demand.
